Each moment describes who you are and gives you the opportunity to decide if that is who you want to be.
This is a core principle of iPEC’s energy leadership coaching and one, which is part of my core beliefs. As the practice of mindfulness teaches us, we live our lives in moments and each moment we have choices about what to do, say, act and how to be in the world.
Think about a recent situation. Maybe it was an argument with a spouse or friend, an issue at work, a confrontation with a family member.
How did you react?
We can choose to be kind, cruel, giving, selfish, open, closed, etc. in every moment.
Eventually, these moments add up to who we are and how we choose to live our lives.
Next time you find yourself faced with a moment, ask yourself:
- What are my core values?
- Am I practicing and living those values?
- If not, what changes do I need to make in my life?
These are simple questions, but asking them can create important shifts and change with powerful results.
If you’re having a hard time figuring all of this out, this may be one of those moments when you decide to live your core values and reach out to a coach for support.
