Meet Laurie Weisman

“ Let the beauty of what you love, be what you do.” Rumi

In my early thirties, after a bout with breast cancer, I had an early mid-life crisis, which resulted in my strong desire to change careers. At the time, I was a well-respected banker, managing a group of lending officers and a large lending portfolio. I progressed steadily in my career and worked in several areas with clients ranging from multinational corporations and corporate raiders to art dealers and movie moguls.

Although I had much to be grateful for professionally, my cancer diagnosis inspired me to search for a greater sense of purpose in my life and a new, more meaningful career. I began working with an extraordinary career coach who gave me the structure, inspiration and guidance I needed to start down a new life path. Armed with a solid framework and tools, I was able find a new career in microfinance (financial services for the poor), which I thoroughly enjoyed for several years. My work melded my desire to make a difference in the world, my business skills and my love of different cultures. I worked in over 20 countries around the globe. I developed educational workshops and advised senior managers and boards of directors on five continents. My work focused on transformation at both the individual and institutional levels.

After several years of fascinating work, I still felt that I was not doing the work I was meant to do. I left my job so I could dedicate myself professionally to helping people find a greater sense of wellbeing by tapping into their inner resources and providing tools for cultivating greater resilience and joy. I went back to graduate school at Columbia University and further developed my knowledge and skills with various certifications and courses related to wellbeing, including training in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR).

The next several years, I founded a business, evenKeel wellness, and worked with a high profile and discerning client base as a health and wellness advisor for a private company.

Now, as an ICF certified coach, I help people envision where they want to go and how they want to be in this world. I walk with them side-by-side down the path, helping to shine a light on things they might not ordinarily see because they are running so fast through life that their vision might be clouded by their assumptions, limiting beliefs, stress and other blocks.

As an ICF certified coach, IMTA certified meditation teacher and certifed happiness trainer, I help clients find a greater sense of balance, resilience and overall wellbeing. This enables them to see more clearly, be more focused and pursue their dreams and goals.

I love to hike, bike, do yoga, visit museums and galleries and teach mindfulness. Since 2015, I have been an instructor for e-Mindful, a leading provider of mindfulness programs for corporations.

I live in the city and recently also in the Alps developing and leading wellbeing retreats at ://chaletm-austria.com/. I feel at home in both settings. The mountains are where I first tested many limiting beliefs and assumptions, climbing the highest mountain in Western Europe (Mont Blanc, using crampons and an ice axe!), The Grand Teton in Wyoming and Mt. Kilimanjaro. I learned the power and beauty of taking one stepat a time.

I have worked and traveled internationally on six continents and have been to over 40 countries.
